Next in line from the Japanese-Swedish alliance. The popular P series gets an upgrade and a nice makeover. This tri-band phone operates with GSM 900, GSM 1800 andGSM 1900.
The P990i runs on Symbian 9.1 OS and UIQ 3 platform. This makes it Wi-Fi capable (802.11b with flight mode). It is also has push email including for Blackberry, infrared, 3G, USB, remote sync via SyncML, Opera 8 web browser, a VPN client, VRML, Java and Bluetooth.
Add to that a Word and Excel editor plus Powerpoint and PDF viewers, you have yourself a complete mobile office!
Screen resolution is at 240x302 pixels with 18bit color. Input can be done via the touchscreen or the built-int QWERTY keyboard - don't forget to use the standard phone keypad too!
The P990i comes with 80MB internal memory and a slot for memory stick duo - 64MB is provided, how nice.
There is also an FM radio with RDS and a 2-megapixel camera with autofocus and photolight.
Power usage is said to be worth 3 hours of 3G talk time, 9 hours of normal talk time and standby rates of 12 days for 3G and 16 days for GSM.
I gotta have one.

An interesting invention of Robert Krupa's. His added twist to the good ol' spark plugs seems to have pushed the device into another dimension.
If you didn't know, the spark plug is needed to provide combustion in an internal combustion engine - if you have to fill your car up with gasoline, then you own an internal combustion engine. Same goes for a gas-powered engine. Only a diesel engines run without spark plugs.
Anyway...
Mr. Krupa here claims that he has been involved in the autootive industry for a long long time. One fine day, he decided to tweak the spark plug to see if there was more to it than a tiny little spark.
To cut a long story short, his tweaking gave birth to the Firestorm Sparkplug. This is what it is claimed to be able to do:
- Gives you more horsepower
- 44%-50% in in miles-per-gallon (that means more fuel efficient)
- Dramatic decrease in emissions
The most promising part to me is the increased fuel efficiency - with rising oil proces, I could sure use a more efficient engine in my car!
Anybody knows where I can buy one of these sparkplugs? I would really like to give them a go and see if they do work as claimed.

Do I look fat...?
You know that you can never really give a straight answer to that question.
Now you can have a way to bury that question once and for all. Well, hopefully...
Hold on to this device with both hands and get your measurements done. By passing micro electrical current (that means a really really small dose of electricity - 500 micro amperes at 50kHz if you must know), the device can measure your body fat. Now you can find out if that diet you are on is actually losing some useful pounds or if your just losing water and/or muscle!
The body fat analyzer is easy enough to use and can restore presets of up to 9 people. When activated, the device will display measurement results after seven seconds on an easy to read monitor. Measurements like BMI (Body Mass Index) and Bi Method (Bioelectrical impedance Method) are available.
Since the device passes some electrical current through your body while taking measurements, it is wise to check if it will effect devices like pacemakers and such.
As for me - I gotta have one!

A 9x9 grid sectioned into 9 3x3 grid. All you have to do is fill each 3x3 grid with the numbers 1 to 9 - making sure that every row and column of the 9x9 grid is filled with the numbers 1 to 9 only once. Unless I wrote this upside down, the concept is really quite simple. So, where is the challenge?
Well, first off, you get a 9x9 grid that has already been filled with some numbers. The challenge is getting your head around these numbers to figure out the one and only combination that will satisfy the grid. This is when it gets tricky. This is when it also gets addictive... really addictive...
That is where this handheld sudoku gizmo comes in. Sudoku on the go - to feed your cranial need to do "just one more" sudoku puzzle before getting on with life. A suitable companion when riding on public transports getting to and fro from your destination.
It works kinda like a PDA (you know, Palm, iPaq etc...). There is a nice stylus which you use on a touchscreen. Includes over 800 puzzles by New York Times' Will Shotz.
Other features include the ability to choose difficulty levels - easy, medium & hard; the ability to save your game and continue later; a nice little hint function when you get really stuck and feel like introducing your puzzle to the nearest wall and a nice little ergonomic design just so that you feel that it was worth the money spent.
